KITA
An original and locally produced documentary film about the realities, values and aspirations of Sabahans in embracing, celebrating and preserving cultural diversity in Sabah. This 1 hour 45 minutes documentary consists of three separate but yet interrelated sections, following the real life stories of 10 ordinary Sabahans and through their lenses we experience the “strength”, “beauty” and “deliciousness” of our diverse society.
Nova Goh
Born and bred on Borneo Island, Nova Goh went to Taiwan in 1999 to study Visual Communication at National Taiwan University of Arts. During his stay in Taiwan as a foreign student, he was influenced by the promising growth of the indie-movie scene and started to become involved in various short-film- making projects. In 2008, he went back to Borneo to begin “The Red Rain on the Equator”, his first feature-length documentary.
Nova is now a seasoned documentary filmmaker. His works have been featured in Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival. His documentary features “The Last Ring Ladies”, was co–produced by NHK, KBS & PTS respectively and is now being released globally. “The Love of Tapang Tree”, was selected by Japan’s Yamagata Dojo, Indonesia’s Doc by the SEA and Switzerland’s Visions Du Reel.
