MOHAMAD SAFWAN BIN MOHD SALLEH
Graduated from the Cinematography program in University Malaysia Sarawak, 2016. Currently, working as a Film editor and also Video Artist around Kuala Lumpur
area.
CAMELLIA YAHYA
A Sarawakian scriptwriter, director and TV producer. 30 years old. Writes fictions as a hobby. She has filmed multiple short films, worked in a film crew for telemovies, produced promotional contents for TVS and variety programmes for RTM. She is now a Business Development Manager at a private company.
HERALD NYUMBANG
Herald is a visual editor based in Kuching, Sarawak. He studied Cinematography in UNIMAS. Directed a short documentary, Aki' (2019), which was selected as Official Selection in Freedom Film Fest (2019), finalist for Best Short Documentary in International Moving Film Festival (2019) and selected to premiere in Kalimantan International Film Festival (2020). In continuation of his appointment as Selection Committee last year, he is again carrying this important role in 2022.
EKIN KEE CHARLES
Ekin Kee Charles is a filmmaker and creative content writer from Kota Marudu Sabah. She is an alumnus of And... Action! Asia 04, the Grand Prize Winner at the BMW Shorties 2019 and is the recipient of the Han Nefkens Foundation Loop Barcelona Video Art Production Grant 2022. Her works often discuss the subject of identity exploration set against unique cultural backdrops.
GENEVIEVE LIM
She graduated from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak in 2020. Lim was a freelance filmmaker and joined a few movie projects in 2022. Now, she works as a video editor based in Johor. At UNIMAS, Lim led the Competition team in the 16th Mini Film Festival. She was also the production designer responsible for the stage design for the 15th Mini Film Festival’s Awards Night. Since 2021, she has been invited as a member of the selection committee for the Mini Film Festival.
UMAR AKMAL
Umar Akmal is an alumnus of Cinematography programme from UNIMAS who is currently undertaking a master programme in Cultural and Creative Industry in UiTM. He is also passionate in producing his own music and has been actively involved in the local independent music scene. Besides that, he also does freelancing in editing, MCP camera operating, producing music score for films, and producing jingles for products and institutions. He has been involved in film competitions and volunteered in film festivals/seminars. He aspires to become a good film and documentary director/writer.
SHU VOON
Shu Voon has graduated from University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Cinematography Programme. She was involved in the organisation of the 18th Mini Film Festival as one of the members of the competition unit. Shu Voon is passionate about script writing and enjoys creating stories that relate to social relations.
CHEALSEA LEONG PEI PEI
Chealsea is currently a video producer at SAYS, REV Media Group. Aside from videos, her passion also lies on fashion and music, and she has an eye for aesthetics. She’s always on the lookout to gain new experiences for her personal growth, in hopes that one day she can share her Asian storytelling internationally.
